diy wind generator

I have build many wind generators some small some big the way to build is the same you need magnets copper wire and a mould to keep evrething together.

500 watt

windgenerator

Making your own wind generator is not that difficult. The easiest way I have found is using an induction motor as the generator. An induction motor was not made to produce electricity but with some minor modifications it will produce electricity.
What you have to do is make the rotor smaller say using a lathe and add some magnets to it its as simple as that. The magnets you will use must be neodymium a very powerful magnet if you want your generator to produce a lot of electricity. You must arrange you magnets around the rotor of the motor in a way that the first one is positive and the next one is negative so you have alternating current coming out of your generator.
Now you have to change your current from ac to dc in order to church a battery so you can store all that energy you are producing.
The only electronics you need in order to make ac to dc is a bridge rectifier it has four terminals one with the mark positive go to the positive terminal of the battery the negative to the negative and the other two go to the two wires coming out of the motor. After you have done your wind generator now its time to make the blades that will power your generator to produce electricity when the wind is blowing. There are two ways to make your blades the easiest is using a plastic tube cut in four and using the pieces as blades, that's all it takes to produce electricity.

There are many ways you can make a wind generator to produce electricity ,one way is by making your generator from scratch like the photo on the left of the page.
